Description

My rig is not suited for imaging small targets, but I'm still determined to make the most of galaxy season.  When I was treated to a clear moonless night earlier this week, I decided give M106 a try, and I'm glad I did.  The Optolong L-Pro did well minimizing light pollution in my Bortle 8 skies, and I managed squeeze in just over 6 hours of data (364 x 60s) in one night.  I was pleasantly surprised at how nicely the processed stack turned out in AstroPixelProcessor and equally pleased with my first attempt post-processing in PixInsight.

I collected data on second night as well, but the data was comparatively poor.  After toying with it for a while, I decided to omit it.
